Unlimited means no Record Knife playlist limit; USB capacity, filesystem and deck limits still apply. Deck settings and custom jog art are model-dependent. Format and repair operations require explicit approval; formatting erases the selected drive.

FROM FOLDER TO BOOTH

Your next set starts here.

01 · Open your tracks.

Work directly with your local audio files. No library import to get started. Keep the main view clean, then reveal Album, Year, Genre and Comments when you need more detail.

02 · Dial them in.

Analyze BPM, musical key and integrated loudness. Preview the waveform, correct half or double tempo readings, set cue points, trim front silence and convert audio for your workflow.

03 · Build your set.

Create playlists and drag tracks into the order you want to play them. Choose waveform colors and model-dependent deck preferences, then export your USB.

04 · Keep it moving.

Bring your USB back to edit an existing playlist or add a new one. Update USB processes new or changed tracks instead of starting the whole preparation session again.

A few things worth knowing.

What computer do I need?

Windows 10/11, Intel Core i5 6th Generation and AMD Ryzen 1000 Series or Newer.

No dedicated graphics card is required. These are our target system requirements; testing on older systems is still in progress.

What is different about Free and Pro?

Free processes one file at a time and exports one playlist with up to five tracks per USB library. Pro adds batch processing, removes the app-imposed playlist and track limits, and includes USB Doctor and the Pro-only tools shown in the comparison above.

Is Pro a subscription?

No. Pro is a one-time purchase with free lifetime updates. The intro price is $49; the regular price is $99. Downloads and checkout are coming soon.

What does hardware compatibility mean?

Record Knife exports Device Library and OneLibrary-compatible formats for supported Pioneer DJ and AlphaTheta equipment. Features vary by model and firmware. Hardware validation is still in progress; format support is not a claim that every model and feature has been tested.

Device Library and OneLibrary are trademarks of AlphaTheta Corporation. Record Knife is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by AlphaTheta Corporation or Pioneer DJ.

Does it change my original files?

Tag edits and audio preparation can modify your source files. Keep a backup before trimming, converting or adjusting loudness. USB Doctor formatting erases the selected drive and requires explicit approval.

GLASS

The Featureless Media Player

A floating waveform. Your music. Nothing in the way.

Preview tracks, samples and loops with a full-track waveform and platter-style scrubbing.

  • Bright colors and adjustable opacity
  • Three window sizes
  • Remembers your settings

Glass comes with both versions of Record Knife. Install Record Knife Free or Pro to get it.

Glass square graphic showing its borderless green waveform floating over a desktop wallpaper

Open a file. Hear it. Move on.

Set Glass as your default audio player and opening an audio file brings up its floating waveform. While Glass is open, use folder quick preview to move between tracks, samples and loops. Close it when you are done—it goes away.

See the whole track without a scrolling timeline. Drag the playhead for platter-style scrubbing, switch between ½×, 1× and 2× playback, and choose a bright waveform color. Adjustable opacity down to 20% lets your desktop stay visible, and your last settings are remembered.

Glass is a separate player, included with Record Knife Free and Pro—not another panel inside the prep workspace.
